TEXTI neeed help. I recently bought 2 pacu's from a friend and one was about 16 inches long and the other was about 8 inches long and 2 puffer fish. so they were pretty big. well i have a 100 gallon tank and i have a iredesent shark, 2 chicklids (cant spell it), 3 rainbow sharks, 3 bala sharks and a 16 inch sucker fish. well ive had the new fish about a week. the other night my husband changed the water and the next day one of my cicklids was dead.. we checked the water my nitrate spiked to 160.. weve done everything from change ALL the water, put nitrate lowering in there. and put antibiotics in there.. we finally got the nitrate down but my 3 balas died, and my 2 puffers died.. well meanwhile we thought the pacus were cooperating and both of them slowly died.. (How do you kill a fish that big) well. everythings prefect in our tank why are our fish still dying.. One of the balas had a heavy cloudy film over his eyes and all the fish that died it looked like there skin was slowly feeled off. with discoloring of there skin also.. They wouldnt eat for a week and had labored breathing.. my husband thinks the nitrate spiked killed the other fish but now thinks that ick killed my 2 pacus.. Can someone help before i loose all my other fish?

i think the nitrate spike definately killed the balas and the chiclid but if your tank had ich you would see little white dots on the fish. i think they are still dying because of all the stress you put on them.
