Hey Placerau...
I'm sorry I hadn't gotten a response to you earlier...
as I don't get over here that often, but will from now on; as you guys are all on the same Webring as me.
And, I'll make sure I have marked the "notify me"
option on my posts!!
Anyway, my opinion on "fishless cycling" is not good.
Although there are many who swear by it; and others
that have done well.......
I have also seen too many that have "nightmares"
over it!!
My position is more from a "retailer's" point of view;
in that I (unfortunately) find most newbies who come
through my store....... don't really take that much time
nor money to thoroughly investigate what they should
"learn" about establishing an aquarium!!
Most barely take the time to listen when I try to
explain (briefly) what the "nitrogen cycle" is all about.
Most won't buy a test kit, until they've experienced
some problems!
So therefore..... those same majority newbies; certainly
won't grasp what goes on in a "fishless cycle" nor
would they have the patience!! Much easier for them
to understand "add fish slowly" and do water changes!!
I have Bio-spira here in the store.....but sell most of it
on-line; since, again, many won't take the time to
learn properly until AFTER they've had some bad experiences!! Believe me... I DO try.... to give customers as MUCH info as they are "WILLING TO
ABSORB"!!!
Again, sorry to be so late.
