Ok, guys. I have this second-hand tank shaped like a globe. It has an undergravel filter with the pump in the base. My question is about filling the tank. Do I have to fill this type of tank with the pump on? I'm worried that if I don't keep the power on the water will run through the base tube to the filter and electric components. I'm a beginner...sorry, I know this is a dumb question. Or is there a typically a mechanism that prevents water from entering the pump? Basically, the tank has an opening in the bottom that is attached to a tube that is attached to the pump. I figure that there must be something to prevent flooding of the pump because what would happen in a power outage....ahhh questions, questions, questions.....Anyway, I'd appreciate any help
