just got my newest tank today! it was supposed 2 be a 5g but the 10g was only $2 more! so i took it! im thinking of putting some shell dwellers in it....but i want a tank 4 the feeder fish still, and a hospital tank...so...im still debating....

Oh yeah. I don't have any tanks up and running right now. (I haven't for about a year now) I haven't started painting my room yet. (I will within the next few weeks) I'll paint my room, wait a week for fumes to settle then I'll be able to put my tanks in my room. ;D

Good. We killed some fish that way once. It was pretty depressing and expensive.

so the fumes get into the tank and kill them? what if u have a canopy?

You need to turn off your air pumps and seal off the tank with a plastic sheet. Any paint fume that gets in the tank will be a disaster. An air pump will actually force the paint fumes into the tank water.

if u cant use an air pump...cause the plants give off oxygen

You only have to keep the tank covered until the fumes go away. Usually a day is enough if you use fans and open windows.
