hi, i just started out freshwater and already i want 2 go reef! it just looks really nice when its done! and i have limited space, and i have seen some ppl work w/ even 5g, so i want 2 learn all the facts, what 2 get 4 a beginner, and how 2 be successful! thanks!

Reef> OK.....You need a big tank, the bigger it is, the better your chance of success. You need a few 100 buck minimum for a start. Lights (a 3' Power Compact costs $170 for 96 watts)you need at least 3 watts per gallon. UV sterilizer($150), Protien skimmer($100), Live rock ($6-$9 a pound)......Just so you get the picture, a healthy, pretty tank doesn't come cheap www.75th-meu.com/MGSsPages.htm

the best advice i can give you is to go out and spend $30 - 50 on a good reef book. you will lose hundreds in mistakes if you do not. you should probly start with a fish only saltwater tank before reef. you can always switch over later. if you have any questions feel free to email me.
